Christ’s Hospital offers an exciting opportunity: the newly created role of Commercial and Community Access Manager, reporting directly to the Business and Commercial Director.
Christ’s Hospital exists to provide life-changing educational opportunity to students from all backgrounds. Situated in 1,200 acres of Sussex countryside, but with close ongoing links with the City of London, the school offers a first-class independent boarding education to more than 850 children with academic potential from all backgrounds. We have a strong track record of delivering public benefit in addition to our unique and long-standing educational bursary programme. Over the coming years we intend to grow our demonstrable impact by increasing programmes, partnerships and one-off events that enable the public, and school children in particular, to benefit from our wonderful facilities and culture. Commercial entities associated with CH include Bluecoat Sports, (BCS) which provides sports and fitness facilities to CH students and the wider community and our trading subsidiary, Christ’s Hospital Enterprises Ltd (CHEL), which runs a programme of residential lettings for language schools in the school holidays. The CH theatre, school buildings, expanding sports facilities and beautiful grounds can, with careful management, provide a wonderful environment that can support a wide range of community activities and create vital revenue to support our bursary programme. The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the management and growth of commercial activity at Christ’s Hospital, Bluecoat Sports and CHEL, and will have line management responsibility for the BCS and CHEL teams.
Benefits include a competitive salary, 23 days holiday, plus bank holidays, membership of the pension scheme, free onsite parking, free lunch during term-time, access to our Employee Assistance Programme and reduced cost membership of the onsite Bluecoat Sports Centre. We welcome applications from all sectors of the community as we aspire to attract staff that match the social and cultural diversity of our pupil body. We consider the most important factor to be the right skills, abilities and attitude for the job which will ultimately improve the well-being and education of the pupils. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
