The Directors and Principal of Padworth College are currently seeking to appoint an outstanding, inspirational, and dynamic Deputy Head (Academic) to commence in August 2025. The successful candidate will be a leader with energy, compassion and demonstrable experience of achieving the highest standards in their educational leadership. They will be joining a committed and dynamic leadership team to help drive forward the strategic growth and development of the College. There could be the opportunity for the Deputy Head (Academic) to live on-site at the College.
The Deputy Head (Academic) is second in seniority to the Principal, with a challenging, rewarding and varied role, and has a major part to play in all significant College developments and future strategic planning. The Deputy Head (Academic), with the Principal and members of the Senior Leadership Team, sets the tone for the compassionate, enlightened, yet firm care and leadership of staff and students in the College. With the Principal, he/she is expected to keep apprised of all national and independent sector developments and to advise the staff on best practice. The Deputy Head (Academic) deputises for the Principal when he/she is out of College.
Padworth College:
Padworth College is an international boarding school which prepares students aged from 14 to 19 from a wide range of nationalities for entry into the British universities. We are expanding our provision to be able to offer a bespoke course which supports students who need to improve their English before moving on to take GCSEs, A Levels or IFY courses.
Experience and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should be a qualified teacher, able to demonstrate line management or Head of Department experience.
Reporting to: Principal
Salary: This will be based on the Padworth College scale and will depend on qualifications and experience. You will also be part of the College’s pension scheme.
Hours of work: Hours of work: The teaching load is up to 6 hours per week, the College day has 8x45 minute lessons per day. Timetabled teaching is from Monday to Friday. The College day is 08:30-16:45 Monday to Friday.
Contract: This is a full-time post from August 2025
