Detail

Reed’s School is a fantastic place to work. Teachers and pupils alike flourish in its friendly, supportive, forward-thinking community. It is one of the leading Independent Day and Boarding Schools in the country and is proud to be providing an education for around 840 pupils, including a significant number who are funded by our charitable foundation. The school is all-boys from 11-16 and has a co-educational Sixth Form.

Sport plays a significant role in the life of students at Reed’s School, engaging a large, enthusiastic, and active sporting community. We are excited to be recruiting for a well-qualified and enthusiastic Head of Rugby to join our highly successful Sports Department.

We are seeking to build on our recent success and continue to progress Reed’s rugby by providing high-level coaching, developing our rugby culture alongside the players technical skills, tactical understanding, and physical preparation. The Head of Rugby will lead the programme with the support of the Head Rugby Coach, specialist rugby coaches, members of the sports department and an engaged team of academic staff members. The applicant will be expected to teach an academic subject.

For Safer Recruitment purposes all applicants must complete a Reed’s School application form. Applicants are also welcome to submit supporting documents if desired. Full details including a job description and application form can be found on our website or alternatively by emailing hr@reeds.surrey.sch.uk.

The closing date for this vacancy will be midday on Wednesday 26th February 2025.

Interested applicants are encouraged to submit a completed application as soon as possible. The School reserves the right to interview and appoint before the closing date, should a suitable candidate present themselves.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The School may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants and all applicants will be required to provide details of their online profile, including social media account names/handles, as part of their application.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self-declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
