St Albans School is a leading independent day school with an outstanding reputation for academic excellence. We are seeking to appoint a Humanities and Maths Assistant to provide pro-active administrative and technical support to the School’s Maths and Humanities departments.

Main duties are to assist with the facilitation and administration of internal exams, to liaise with teaching staff regarding the preparation and distribution of teaching resources, and to support the Heads of Department with administrative organisation of their respective departments.

Previous administrative experience is required ideally gained within a school environment, along with strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Experience with Microsoft Office applications and general office equipment is essential. The successful candidate will be able to take initiative and will work effectively both independently and with the other Humanities and Maths Assistant.

Hours are 27 per week, during term time, plus two weeks in School holidays. Weekly hours must include Thursday and Friday 8.00am to 4.00pm, with the remaining hours worked over two or three days, Monday to Wednesday, with a daily start time of 8.00am. Some flexibility is required regarding weekly hours to meet the needs of the department.
