        We are seeking to appoint a well‑qualified, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable Teacher of Politics to join our dedicated and supportive staff team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an inspiring teacher to contribute to a thriving department within a lively and collaborative school community.

          The successful candidate will teach approximately 0.5 - 0.6 of a timetable. A full -time timetable may be considered if the candidate is able to teach another subject. Final teaching commitments will be carefully shaped around the strengths, experience, and interests of the appointed candidate. We are committed to supporting staff in their professional growth, and ongoing training and development opportunities will be provided both internally and externally. Some training will naturally involve time beyond standard contracted hours.

          Key Responsibilities

            The successful candidate will:

                • Prioritise the safeguarding and wellbeing of pupils at all times.
                • Set and mark regular written and oral work in accordance with departmental and school expectations.
                • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of pupils’ progress and attainment, taking appropriate action where necessary and liaising with the Head of Department.
                • Ensure marking is consistent with agreed departmental standards and the School Marking Policy.
                • Participate fully in departmental activities, including meetings, examination preparation, and assessment.
                • Contribute to departmental events outside the school day, such as lectures or enrichment activities, as required by the Head of Department.
                • Engage in wider extra‑curricular activities, according to personal skills and interests.
                • Attend required school functions, including staff meetings, parents’ evenings, and supervisory duties.
                • Adhere to all relevant school and departmental policies.
