Marketing & Development Assistant - Overview

The Marketing & Development Assistant role is a new one which the School has introduced to support the work of the Head of Marketing in delivering the School’s marketing strategy and the Director of Development with Alumni relations and development administration. The School is happy to consider applicants wishing to apply for the full time role, but will also consider applications from candidates wishing to work part-time as a job-share, estimated as being 3 days per week for a Marketing Assistant and 2 days per week for a Development Assistant.

The Marketing & Development Assistant will report to the Head of Marketing for marketing activities and the Director of Development for development and alumni relations activities. The team is co-located in an open-plan office to facilitate this working arrangement. The Marketing & Development Assistant will also work closely with the Head, Director of Operations and the Admissions team which includes the Registrar and the Admissions Assistant.

It is anticipated that the Marketing & Development Assistant will work approximately 34 weeks per year (term time), plus an additional 8 weeks outside of term time, according to the needs of the School and as directed by the Head of Marketing and the Director of Development. Wherever possible the schedule of weeks worked outside of term will be such that the Marketing & Development Assistant will provide cover for other colleagues during their holiday periods.

The post is either full time for one candidate, 37.5 hours per week, or for candidates wishing to work part-time as a job share it is currently estimated that this will be equivalent to 3 days per week (22.5 hrs per week) for the Marketing Assistant role and 2 days per week (15 hours per week) for the Development Assistant role. As the role is new, should the job share be implemented, the working hours will be kept under review and the balance may shift depending on the needs of the department and workload. In addition, as for all staff, the Marketing & Development Assistant can expect to be called upon to work outside of these hours for example, to attend evening and weekend events (e.g. concerts, plays, chorister or boarding activities, Sports Day, etc.) to be photographed and to cover for absent colleagues or attend staff meetings or training.

The School is open to considering requests for hybrid working though it is anticipated that at least for the marketing activities, most benefit will be gained by working the majority of the time on site to be able to attend school events for photographing and videoing purposes.
