A lead primary teacher for our small but growing SEND provision in the heart of Knightsbridge. Role will include helping us to develop a new curriculum, managing our EYFS and KS1 teams and class teaching across the school.
We are looking for an experienced EYFS/ KS1 teacher who can support us to continue to build our specialist school at an exciting time!
With a minimum of 2 years teaching experience, candidates should be ready to take on a more senior teaching role with responsibility for our EYFS and KS1 classes. You will lead and manage the teams in both class groups, with key responsibility for planning across the curriculum. You will support the headteacher and classroom staff in planning the curriculum and schedules. You will also be involved with our therapy team with setting and monitoring long and short term targets, supporting parent coaching and engagement and organising and leading 1-1 and small group activities across all age groups.
Major tasks:
1. Planning and differentiating the EYFS and KS1 curriculum for young learners with ASD/ communication disorders.
2. Delivering teaching experiences to our nursery and Reception groups.
3. . Overseeing team schedule
4. Supervision and practical training of classroom staff
5. Deputy safeguarding lead
6. Responsibility for risk assessments and health and safety within the EYFS and KS1 classrooms
Essential:
QTS status either through bachelors primary ed or PGCE OR Equivalent international teaching qualification.
Minimum 2 years’ experience of working with children 0-5 and 5-10 who have autism or related disabilities and their families
Minimum 1 years experience managing and/ or supervising small team/s
Knowledge of child development
Experience of using standardized assessment tools
Ability to act on own initiative
Ability to prioritise and make decisions
Commitment to personal and organisational development
Commitment to the development of all children of all abilities
Desirable:
Masters level qualification in SEN /Autism/ Education or Child Development
Experience of grant applications within third sector
Experience of organising fundraising events
experience in home based programmes with early year’s children
First Aid at Work qualification
Training in evidence based interventions such as NDBI models- PRT/ESDM/ABA
