This newly created post of Community and Events Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the future strategic vision of City of London Freemen’s School and the objectives of the External Relations Department. This is a highly visible, externally facing position that is instrumental in strengthening the school’s marketing, admissions, and community engagement efforts.

The role involves fostering and maintaining strong relationships with both the immediate and wider community while overseeing a diverse range of pupil recruitment and community events. It requires a dynamic, articulate, and persuasive communicator who can effectively convey and champion the values and vision of Freemen’s to a broad audience.

The postholder will also be responsible for the strategic management of events and development of partnerships with local schools, corporate and charity partners; identifying potential partnerships that may lead to students who would benefit from a Freemen’s education but do not have the means to access it, joining the school supported by bursaries; as well as driving fundraising initiatives to help support bursary and outreach programmes at the School. This post will also manage the relationship with external organisations.

Working hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time plus six weeks of additional hours to be worked as arranged with the role’s line manager. There may be the requirement to work occasional evenings and Saturdays.

The City of London Corporation is currently undergoing a programme to ensure that our pay and reward practices are competitive and equitable across the whole organisation to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to thrive in the work that we do.
