Edgbaston High School is seeking an organised, proactive and friendly Admin Assistant to provide support to colleagues in our busy school.
This varied position includes a range of tasks including reception cover, reprographics, and support for the External Communications department. Experience of working in a school or similar busy front-facing environment would be beneficial. Sound working knowledge of Microsoft applications is essential and an experience of using MIS or other databases is very desirable.
The successful candidate will have excellent administrative skills and written English. They will be adaptable and able to multi-task, to cope with the requirements of the position. They will have a polite, friendly disposition but will understand the importance of both confidentiality and safeguarding.
It is a part-time role during term time only. As a maternity cover, the position will be for one year, from January to December 2027. Hours are 22.5 per week: 10am – 2pm Monday to Thursday and 9am – 4pm Friday (with 30 minute lunchbreak) plus one Saturday per year to support Open Morning. There is some flexibility over the start/finish times on Monday to Thursday, although you must be available to cover reception duties over the lunch period.

Interviews will take place at Edgbaston High School for Girls during the week beginning Monday 2nd November. Successful candidates will be invited to a formal interview and will be asked to do an administrative task. There will also be an opportunity to tour the School on the day.
