Summary

We are seeking to appoint an excellent, committed, enthusiastic and dynamic Science Technician.

Detail

This is an exciting opportunity, especially for a recent Science graduate, to join a busy, thriving Science department. You would be working as part of our 3-strong technician team to support practical work across key stage 3-5 in Biology, Physics and Chemistry. The laboratories at EHS are extremely well resourced and practical work is at the heart of our curriculum. We also offer opportunities for training in specific areas with the possibility of promotion.

Every day will be different, but there will also be the element of routine. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of equipment and supplies as well as coordinating and organising practical resources and equipment to support the teachers in the Biology department. You will be expected to work collaboratively and positively with two other science technicians, as well as teaching staff across the Science department.

Every employee at EHS is a valued member of the team, and staff wellbeing is important. Employee benefits include a generous employer pension; on-site parking; use of the gym and pool; training opportunities; delicious lunches prepared by our onsite catering team; access to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens for employees and their families; and access to an Employee Assistance Programme.

This is a full time permanent position starting in September, working 37.5 hours per week - 08.15am - 4.15pm Monday to Friday (52 weeks)

A full job description and person specification can be found in the Information Pack.

The closing date for applications is 9am on Monday 21st July.

Interviews will take place at Edgbaston High School for Girls shortly after. Successful candidates will be invited to a formal interview and there will also be an opportunity to tour the School on the day.

Applications, addressed to Mrs Clare Macro (Headmistress), should include a completed school application form and a covering letter of not more than 2 pages summarising your suitability for the role as outlined in the information pack.

Please submit these to the HR & Compliance Officer, Ms Corinna Gregory: recruitment@edgbastonhigh.co.uk

CVs may be submitted as well but must be accompanied by an application form.
