We are seeking a permanent part-time PE / Sports Assistant, to join our team from September 2025.
This position is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic PE / Sports Assistant to contribute to the Sports and PE department. The ability to coach rugby, cricket and football is desirable and the successful candidate will ideally hold relevant qualifications and be passionate about working with young children.
The successful candidate will support the Head of Sport and the Sports and PE department at Hampton Pre-Prep & Prep, promote enjoyment and assist every boy or girl to develop and reach their potential in sport and PE. You will also be able to nurture successful performance, confidence, teamwork and participation in Hampton Prep School’s Sports teams.
The overall responsibilities particular to this post are subject to the general duties and responsibilities contained in the Contract of Employment and letter of appointment.
We are one form entry at Hampton Pre-Prep (Kindergarten to Year 2), with a maximum of 22 children in each class. We move to two form entry at Hampton Prep (Year 3 to 6), with a year group size of approximately 36 boys in two classes of 18. The working hours for this role are 4 days per week, 1.30pm – 5.00pm, term time only. Holidays cannot be taken during term time.
The salary for this role will be based on the Hampton School Scale for Support Staff and is likely to be £7889.00 per annum (full-time equivalent being £25,640). This will be paid in 12 equal payments by bank transfer on the 25th of the month, or next working day thereafter. There may also be the opportunity to assist with Saturday sports fixtures for the Senior School for which you would be remunerated accordingly.
We operate an induction and mentoring programme for all colleagues new to the School.
