The Maths Department
The Mathematics Faculty is located within a modern purpose built classroom block equipped with interactive whiteboards. It is made up of a dynamic team of almost twenty teachers who embody a collaborative ethos and approach to ensuring the department provides an outstanding Mathematics education for all pupils.
Approximately half of the pupils in the Sixth Form chose to study A-level Maths or A-level Further Maths, making Mathematics the most popular subject in the College. The department is also committed to providing a leading enrichment program in Mathematics, which runs from Year 7 onwards.
This consists of regular off syllabus masterclasses aimed at developing mathematical thinking, preparation for UKMT Challenges and Olympiads, in which the College has a strong track record, as well as preparing pupils for university entrance exams (such as STEP and MAT) through our Highly Selective University programme.
Who We're Looking For:
The successful candidate will have experience of teaching at both GCSE and A Level with a proven track record of success. They will be proactive, organised and place the needs of the young people at the forefront of everything they do.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Maths or closely related subject.
Qualified Teacher Status desirable
Proven success of teaching Maths at A Level.
Proven track record of excellence in an education setting.
Strong evidence of continuous professional development.
