We are seeking to appoint a Science Technician to join our busy Science department.
The Science Department is split by subject, Chemistry, Physics and Biology, each with its own Head of Department and teaching staff. A team of Science technicians assist with preparations for practical experiments, risk assessments and associated Health and Safety issues, in their department and assisting each other within the whole science faculty.
There are five Chemistry laboratories and one specialized chemistry laboratory specifically designed for A Level classes. The wider science department also has five Physics laboratories and four Biology laboratories. In addition, there are five science classrooms and one general science laboratory.
This role will assist with preparation of all materials used for teaching in the busy Chemistry department as well as the day-to-day running of the Chemistry Prep room. The ideal candidate should have experience ideally within a science related background, be able to demonstrate initiative, work to time constraints and be able to work independently as well as within a team environment.
Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm, 36 weeks per year (term time plus one agreed week).
