Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Sports Coach to join our PE Dept in delivering, supporting and enhancing our sports provision across our school. While a specialism in hockey is desirable, we will consider those with expertise in other sports.

Detail

Objectives of the post:

To assist in the running of the PE department, leading and delivering an all-round hockey provision and assisting and enhancing other sports offerings.

Key responsibilities:

To work cooperatively with the Head of PE and the rest of the PE department to operate a well-structured sports programme.
To provide a high-quality coaching programme for all teams from Lower School to Senior School.
To carry out specific duties designated by the Head of PE.
To maintain and recommend equipment and supplies needed for the implementation of the sports programme.
To foster among the players a desire to win, an attitude of good sportsmanship, personal pride, and pride for their school and community.
To deliver curriculum lessons and assist with the delivery of other lessons within the curriculum.
To commit to all sports fixtures, including Saturday fixtures.
To be responsible for the welfare, health and safety of pupils in their care, reporting any concerns or breaches of guidelines or behaviour to the appropriate person.

About the PE Department

Our department operates across two sites and consists of a dedicated team of six staff delivering Physical Education across all Key Stages. We offer a wide range of competitive and non-competitive sports, with a strong emphasis on health, wellbeing, and inclusive participation.

Hockey is a popular sport across all age groups, supported by our outreach programme in local primary schools. We have a proud history of success, including National Schools finals and individual pupils achieving national representation.

Extra-curricular provision is a cornerstone of our department, with a comprehensive programme of activities and fixtures that run throughout the week and at weekends. We are committed to offering opportunities for all pupils to engage in sport at a level that suits them.
