Summary

Join the grounds team at the Royal Grammar School Guildford as our Deputy Head Groundsperson and you'll become part of a small team of grounds professionals responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the school's grounds and gardens.

Detail

You must have at least three years' experience of sports ground and garden maintenance and a full UK driving licence. A flexible approach is essential as the role requires overtime at weekends and occasional evenings.

Responsibilities include:

Care and maintenance of the grounds and facilities including the seasonable change around and preparation of pitches for Rugby, Football and Cricket.
Tend, plant and cultivate the gardens at RGS and RGS Prep schools.
Ensure all machinery and hand tools are used and maintained appropriately.
Manage maintenance requirements and prioritise works and timings around sports fixtures and upcoming events accordingly.
Matchdays duties.
Liaise with and supervise all Grounds-related external contractors as directed by the Grounds Manager.
Supervise the team and their activities in the Grounds Managers’ absence.
Assist with the training and development of staff to enable them to reach their targets and goals.
