St Helen’s is looking to appoint a Head of Games and Competitive Sports Programme, to lead the development, coordination and quality assurance of a robust, inclusive and aspirational fixture and games programme. The role ensures that students have access to well‑organised, appropriately tiered competitive opportunities, while maintaining clear communication, logistics oversight and performance monitoring. This role is ideal preparation for a Director of Sport position in the future.

The Person

Essential:

  • Experience managing fixtures or games programmes.
  • Experience of coaching or playing at a semi-professional/professional standard
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage complex logistics.
  • Strong communication skills with staff, parents and students.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with coaches and external partners.
  • Competent with scheduling and fixtures systems.
  • Strong understanding of welfare, safety and behaviour standards in youth sport.

Highly Desirable:

  • Coaching qualifications in major school sports (Netball, Football, Cricket, Swimming, Badminton or Athletics)
  • A teaching qualification. We welcome candidates that may not have a formal teaching qualification for this position.
  • Experience working with youth athletes.
  • Experience in performance pathways or development squads.
  • First Aid, minibus licence, or safeguarding qualifications.
