The successful candidate will be an inspiring historian who passionate about prep school education and have the idea, drive, and enthusiasm to lead this department in the next phase of academic development at St Hugh’s.
St Hugh's is a highly regarded coeducational day and boarding school. We are situated on a beautiful green campus of 40 acres in the South Oxfordshire countryside, only 25 minutes from Central Oxford. In June 2025, the Headmaster and Governors announced that St Hugh’s would be opening a Senior School in September 2026. This opportunity is representative of the forecasted growth of the school in the years ahead. It is a very exciting time to be joining St Hugh’s.
The post holder will report directly to the Deputy Head Academic. This is a part time position (0.62 FTE), working four days a week, with an opportunity to increase to full time very likely in the future as the Senior School launches.
