Strathallan School - Graduate Assistant and Resident Tutor (Drama and Performing Arts)

Summary

We are currently seeking to fill the position of Graduate Assistant and Resident Tutor (Drama and Performing Arts).

Detail

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join the School as a Graduate Assistant and Resident Tutor in Drama and Performing Arts on a fixed-term basis for one academic year.

This represents an outstanding opportunity for a recent graduate seeking valuable experience before pursuing a career in teaching, theatre, directing, theatre design, or the wider education sector. The role would be particularly suited to someone who has recently completed a degree in Theatre, Drama, Technical Theatre, or a related discipline and is looking to develop their skills within a thriving school environment.

In addition to their departmental role, all Graduate Assistants will take on the position of Resident Tutor within one of the School’s boarding houses. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a full part in boarding life, supporting pupils’ wellbeing, pastoral care, and co-curricular activities. Accommodation is provided as part of the remuneration package.

The successful candidate will support the Drama and Performing Arts Department, contributing to both the curricular and co-curricular life of the School while gaining practical experience in a vibrant educational environment.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for graduates who have a genuine interest in working with young people aged 13–18, and who are keen to develop their experience within a school environment.

While prior experience of working with young people is beneficial, it is not essential. More important is a clear enthusiasm for supporting pupils’ development and a willingness to engage fully in school life.

A relevant degree or educational background in Drama, Performing Arts, Technical Theatre, Theatre Studies, or a related discipline would be advantageous, as would experience of participating in, supporting, or delivering drama, performing arts, technical theatre, productions, or other related creative activities.
