An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, suitably experienced and personable candidate to join the School as Head of Legal and Compliance. We are looking for the successful candidate to start as soon as possible on the completion of all required checks, to allow for a sufficient handover with the current post-holder.

The Head of Legal and Compliance oversees the day-to-day running of the Compliance Office.

Key responsibilities include the management of all school policies, health, safety and welfare, premises, employment, Data Protection, management and governance. Please refer to the school website for the recruitment information booklet including full job description and the application form. The ideal candidate will hold a degree (or equivalent) in law. Experience of working in an independent school is an advantage.

This is a full-time position. However, there may be some flexibility around the role being term time plus a few weeks during the school holidays.

When full time, the role attracts 28 days annual leave, to be taken during the school holidays, in addition to Bank Holidays and the Christmas closure of the school (usually for two weeks).

The salary will be commensurate with the post and will depend upon qualifications and experience.

All staff working in the School during the school day will have some contact with children and will therefore be in regulated activity. In this role you are unlikely to be working with children directly but will regularly interact with pupils who may seek your assistance or otherwise interact with you when moving around the school.

The School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self-declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children."
