Required from January to December 2026, part-time (0.50 FTE), term time only.
Tormead School is an academically selective independent school for 800 girls aged 4–18, located a short stroll from the historic town centre of Guildford, just 40 minutes by train to London.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed PE & Games Teacher to join our dedicated Sports Department at an exciting time in the School’s development, as we launch our new Performance Programme and continue to deliver ambitious plans for sporting growth.
Reporting to the Director of Sport, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality and engaging PE and Games lessons across both the Prep and Senior Schools, while also supporting our extensive co-curricular sports clubs and fixtures programme. A specialism in netball would be considered favourably.
The role requires the postholder to deliver inclusive, challenging and inspiring PE and Games sessions, support the organisation of and coach co-curricular clubs and weekly fixtures (netball and cricket in particular), and contribute to the development of netball provision by taking the lead of an age group. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, professionalism, and the ability to nurture both talent and participation across all PE, Games, and co-curricular sports sessions. Experience of teaching within an educational setting is desirable, and candidates should demonstrate the ability to contribute fully to a busy and vibrant department.
This is a part-time position (0.5 FTE), term time only, for a fixed term of one year for maternity cover. The working pattern will be across 3-4 days per week, plus weekend fixtures as required (hours to be discussed at interview). We offer a supportive and inclusive working environment, and our benefits package includes a competitive salary, professional development opportunities, free lunch when school is in session, and free use of the school gym.
