A little bit about us

We are a small independent school in Windsor. The school has been running since 1936. We value each and every member of our staff team and recognise that people can bring different ideas and suggestions all of which are equally valued. We view our team members as our extended family and most of our staff have worked with the school for many years.

Digital Fundamentals at Upton

Upton has a very unique approach to teaching ICT and we have created our own bespoke digital fundamentals curriculum. This approach was recognised in our recent ISI inspection and was seen as a real strength at Upton House. We are committed to providing every child leaving Upton with a diverse set of digital skills relevant to the real world. As part of our ongoing curriculum enhancements, we have expanded our technology provision and ICT has been consumed by Digital Fundamentals.

Digital Fundaments provides the basic skills that pupils require to be able to competently use digitals tools at school and beyond. In addition, the pupils are introduced to other areas to identify their interest and give them the foundations to specialise at Upton House School or independently outside of school in these areas.

Weekly Digital Fundamentals lessons are designed to ensure that all children acquire essential skills through a progressive and relevant curriculum. As children advance into Form 5 and Form 6, they can specialise in the following pillars broadcasting, coding, and drone flying. Music Technology sits alongside Digital Fundaments but is covered the Music Technology specialist. We expect to add more pillars to the Digital specialisms. Broadcasting covers livestreaming of school events, content generation which includes VFX, green screening and video editing.

At Upton House we have a newly installed ICT Suite with 20 computer stations (windows computers) and 3 large presentation screens. We also have a broadcasting studio for livestreaming and podcasts as well as suite of Apple macs and a recording studio.
