Detail

Our Chaplain will be an inspiring, experienced and charismatic individual. We seek someone with both empathy and drive to join a talented, creative and good-natured team, to forward our ambitious development plan.

Woldingham School has been designated as a school with a religious character. It is part of the Catholic Church and is conducted as a Catholic school in accordance with Canon Law, the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and the Trust Deed of the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton. The post therefore requires a practising Catholic who can show by example and from experience that he or she will ensure that the school is distinctively Catholic in all its aspects.

All staff receive free lunches and refreshments.

The Woldingham community is a rich one in which many different backgrounds and cultures are represented and many different languages spoken. This diversity is valued and respected and we are keen to welcome applications from all applicants that feel that they meet the requirements of the role, regardless of their background and culture. All job applicants will be considered solely on their ability to do the job.

Close to London, yet in an outstandingly beautiful rural setting, Woldingham is a happy and successful Catholic boarding and day school for girls aged 11 to 18. With a strong community and caring culture, we are building on a proud heritage that stretches back over 180 years. We’re now driving an exciting future that’s underpinned by fresh ideas, an innovative spirit and state-of-the-art facilities.

Once completed, please return your application and cover letter to hr@woldinghamschool.co.uk.

This role will close at 09.00am on Wednesday 17th September 2025. Long list interviews will be held on Thursday 25th September 2025. Shortlist interviews will take place on Thursday 2nd October 2025.

Candidates will need to ensure they are available to attend both interviews should they be long/shortlisted to interview.

We encourage early applications, and as such reserve the right to close the role early should a suitable candidate be appointed.

Woldingham School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS report will be required for the successful candidate.

Professional development and staff welfare

Our professional team of staff is Woldingham’s greatest asset, and we want to ensure that everyone is supported to work in an effective, enjoyable and fulfilling way. Staff Development is a high priority, with induction and mentoring programmes for Newly Qualified Teachers and new colleagues, plus an annual cycle of Personal Professional Development planning for all colleagues.

Staff are welcome to use our range of outstanding facilities including the gym, squash and tennis courts and the swimming pool. Our Staffroom Committee organises regular social events, and individual members of staff have organised yoga classes and reflexology on site.
